A Winter's Worth of Work

Ladies and Gentlemen! I have been woefully remiss in my postings on this fine blog. Have your minds been aquiver with anticipation? Mine has. Particularly because these past season have seen me put down henna and pick up other arts projects. I've been acting and dressing and singing and dancing my good fellows. I submit the following evidence for your review: These photos- courtesy of Pat Jarrett all rights reserved- were captured at the Cabaret! Show at the Artful Dodger in March. It was St. Patty's day themed so I dressed myself in what can only be described as lace Curtain Irish Bellydance attire. Haha. My grandmother is rolling in her grave for that pun... Twas a lovely night with the Judy Chops, The Slomski Cabaret and a Strongman who is yet nameless. I call him Handsome Drew. get it? HANDsome Drew? Cus he has strong hands! The Chops also let me sing that night which was superb. Have you seen that microphone? Its old-timey and had Mark Slomski's lips all over it! I'll be posting more in the coming days to make up for lost time!

CHALLENGE Week 10: For Remembrance

I snuck it in right under the wire on Sunday afternoon, but I did it! This celtic cross was for a client who was looking to commemorate some recent events in her life. I confess, I made it much bigger than she was planning on...surprise! Untitled

CHALLENGE Week 9: North African Serpent Queen

Ladies & Gentles,

This week I've been interested in north African geometry. I watched the BBC version of Arabian Nights and it was just FULL of tattooed characters and delicious textures.

CHALLENGE Week 8: Yakuza!

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I have made up for running late this week by doing my most intricate large scale henna to date. This yakuza tattoo style piece ate 3 hours and 4 complete cones. The pictures below include the first shading I put in and then the finished details after I discarded most of the shading mud. Should make for some very nice dual tones!
Also, it peaks over her shoulders in the front- best tattoo cleavage ever!

CHALLENGE week 7: Dark Marks

Ladies and Gentlemen! We welcome Halloween in July! My dear friend Cass Morris was celebrating being an authoress and her patronage to the Harry Potter Con at Harry Potter World in Florida. She is dressing as Bellatrix LeStrange and what Deatheater would be complete without a Dark Mark?

And I wasn't finished I guess so I grabbed another hand and threw some web. Also, who doesn't love tiny bats?

CHALLENGE Week 5 & 6: mysticism and mayhem

Ladies & Gentles,
Sorry for the delay but I've been brewing some big stuff! Check out this piece on my very cooperative victim Erin West! It's a design I've been saving up for years...part of a retinue of mysticism graphics. I've posted the stain and also a painted embellishment version. More crystals please!

Week 6 brings us a simple repeated gear and flower design on my long lost Amber Scott!

CHALLENGE week 4: Delicate Garden Hands

I admit I was a bit lazy this week- it snuck up on me. But these dainty digits hold done the fourth week of our challenge!
